Dacy Lane Officially Opened with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Dacy Lane Officially Opened with Ribbon-Cutting CeremonyHays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Officials from Hays County, the City of Kyle, Seton Hospital, Kyle Chamber of Commerce and residents from the Dacy Lane area gathered June 20 to officially open the road to traffic with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. They were joined by staff from project engineering firm LAN, Inc., and road construction company Capital Excavation.

The 1.35-mile stretch of road that connects Goforth and Bebee roads and Seton Hays Hospital now boasts four lanes with dedicated sidewalks and, in key locations, a center turn lane. Students traveling to Lehman High School will soon be able to ride on dedicated bike lanes as well.

The project straightened out two 90-degree turns on Dacy Lane and added dedicated right-turn lanes on Bebee Road. The new 600-foot bridge raises the roadway 11 feet, which will alleviate many flooding issues. The project, funded by Hays County and the City of Kyle, was originally estimated at $10 million, but came in some 21 percent under budget at $7.87 million.
