Hays County Government Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

“Hays County officially opened the new 232, 000 square foot Government Center on February 2, 2012. The three-story building consolidated a number of area offices and provides a secure, expanded work area to more efficiently serve the public,” said Debbie Ingalsbe, who led the effort on this project. “Built on schedule and under budget, the county funded the center without raising the current tax rate, having set aside money in the budget for a number of years in preparation for the need for a new building,” Ingalsbe added. The cost of the building is approximately $63.8 million, including furniture, fixtures and equipment.

The new Government Center, located on 712 South Stagecoach Trail, is designed for energy efficiency and future growth. The center provides offices for Adult Probation, Auditor/Purchasing, Compliance/Collections, Constable Pct. 1, County Clerk, County Courts-at-Law, District Attorney, District Clerk, District Courts, Elections, Grants, Human Resources, Information Technology, Justice of the Peace, Juvenile Probation, Sheriff’s Office Security Division, Tax Assessor-Collector and Treasurer.
