Ingalsbe Named 2nd Vice President of the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas

Ingalsbe Named 2nd Vice President of the County Judges and Commissioners Association of TexasHays County Commissioner Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe was recently named 2nd Vice President of the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas during their 87th Annual conference held in Corpus Christi. The installation took place on October 8, 2009.

The Association convenes elected county officials in order to promote continuing education and unite its members to create a greater interest and promote better business methods in County Government through active participation in governmental affairs. The Association consists of 254 counties in Texas, there are 1,270 active members of the association – four county commissioners and one county judge from each county. The purpose of the statewide organization is to promote the interests of county government through continuing education and active participation

Among Commissioners Ingalsbes’ responsibilities, she will provide educational opportunities to its members and represent the Association throughout the state and she will also perform the duties of the President or First Vice-President in their absence or in their inability or failure to act and to assist the President in the performance of his duties, when called upon to do so.

“It is a great honor to be elected by my colleagues to represent them in this distinguished position. I look forward to being a part of our leadership team to represent a united front on county issues. This will give us the opportunity, as counties, to look at issues on a more regional basis and present to our perspective Legislators,” said Commissioner Ingalsbe. “Issues currently facing Hays County and other counties in our surrounding area are the need for additional county authority to implement impact fees and buffer zones, transportation needs, unfunded mandates, protection of our natural resources such as water quality and quantity and many more.”
