Fair Housing: It’s the Law!

April 2019 marks the 51st anniversary of the 1968 landmark Fair Housing Act. In support, Hays County is declaring April Fair Housing Month for all residents. Fair Housing Month is an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to upholding fair housing law as well as our commitment to offering equal professional service to all in their search for real property. Serving clients without regard to race, creed, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or nationality benefits every agent’s bottom line.

To further promote fair housing practices, the County of Hays encourages potential homeowners and renters to be aware of their rights under the National Fair Housing Law.

Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin in the sale or rental of units in the housing market.
