Hays County COVID-19 Update July 8

Hays County Local Health Department today reports its 11th COVID-related fatality, a Mountain City man in his 70s. Today’s update also shows 85 new lab-confirmed cases and 15 additional recoveries.

Epidemiologist Ian Harris (filing in for Eric Schneider) said the County’s total of lab-confirmed cases is 3,328; of those, 2,721 are considered active. The total number of individuals considered recovered is 596. The number of negative tests is 10,417. Schneider is awaiting results on 61 tests. Hays County has had 69 total hospitalizations; 20 people are currently hospitalized.
