Hays County Local Health Department today reports 31 new lab-confirmed cases along with 65 additional recoveries.
Epidemiologist Eric Schneider said the County’s total of lab-confirmed cases is 4,276; of those, 2,935 are considered active. The number of individuals considered recovered is 1,316. The number of negative tests is 21,297. Schneider is awaiting results on 43 tests.
“We’re pleased to see Hays County residents continuing to help prevent the spread of the virus, but we can’t ease up on our efforts,” Schneider said. “By working together, social distancing, wearing masks and washing our hands, we can protect ourselves and the most vulnerable in our community.”
Hays County has had 98 hospitalizations and 23 people are currently hospitalized; no change from Tuesday’s report. Some patients are in hospitals outside Hays County but are included in our numbers if they reside here. Likewise, an individual from another county who is in a local hospital would be accounted for in their county of residence.
