Hays County Local Health Department today reports 16 new lab-confirmed cases along with one hospital discharge and 67 additional individuals now considered recovered.
Epidemiologist Eric Schneider said the County’s total of lab-confirmed cases is 5,066; of those, 2,736 are considered active. The number of individuals considered recovered is 2,295. The number of negative tests is 22,518. Schneider is awaiting results on 38 tests.
“Decreasing cases are a good thing,” Schneider said. “but we know this pandemic isn’t over. Everyone needs to continue taking all the necessary safety precautions to continue to slow the spread of the virus.”
Hays County has had 124 total hospitalizations and 19 people are currently hospitalized. Some patients are in hospitals outside Hays County but are included in our numbers if they reside here. Likewise, an individual from another county who is in a local hospital would be accounted for in their county of residence.

By opening up the full dashboard, users can click the top right corner on the main page to find an option to see the stats broken down by each individual city. After selecting “View Cities Dashboard”, use the drop-down menu to search by city.
