Epidemiologist Eric Schneider also reported 17 new lab-confirmed cases, one (1) new hospitalization, two (2) hospital discharges and 51 additional individuals now considered recovered.
The County’s total of lab-confirmed cases is 5,083; of those, 2,700 are considered active. The number of individuals considered recovered is 2,346. The number of negative tests is 22,621. Schneider is awaiting results on 33 tests.
“While lower numbers of new cases is a good thing, the pandemic isn’t over,” Schneider said. “Hays County residents can work together to slow the spread of the virus by washing hands, wearing masks and staying distanced from others.”
Hays County has had 125 total hospitalizations and 18 people are currently hospitalized. Some patients are in hospitals outside Hays County but are included in our numbers if they reside here. Likewise, an individual from another county who is in a local hospital would be accounted for in their county of residence.
