Hays County COVID-19 Update September 14

Hays County Local Health Department today reports one new COVID-related fatality, a Kyle man in his 70s. The department also reports 58 new lab-confirmed cases since Friday’s update, along with six new hospitalizations, three hospital discharges and 58 additional people now considered recovered.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases is 5,656 with 1,930 of those considered active. The number of individuals considered recovered is 3,674. The number of negative tests is 25,678. The Health Department is awaiting results on one test.

Hays County has had 164 total hospitalizations and 11 people are currently hospitalized. Some patients are in hospitals outside Hays County but are included in our numbers if they reside here. Likewise, an individual from another county who is in a local hospital would be accounted for in their county of residence.
