Hays County COVID-19 Update January 27

Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports four (4) COVID-related fatalities, a Buda woman in her 70s, a Kyle man in his 70s, and two San Marcos women in their 70s. The department also reports 79 new lab-confirmed cases along with one (1) new hospitalization and four (4) new hospital discharges. There are 332 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 12,195.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 14,719. Hays County has 2,343 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 3,674 active cases. Hays County has had 637 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 34 people are currently hospitalized.

The next vaccine appointment portal will open at noon this coming Friday, Jan. 29. On that day, at that time, residents can go to haysinformed.com to find the sign-up link. The info will also be on the County’s official Facebook page. Please note, no one can sign up now and there is not a waiting list. For anyone without internet access or a smartphone, they can call this number beginning at noon on Friday, Jan. 29: 512-938-1650.
