Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one (1) new COVID-related fatality, a Wimberley man in his 80s. The department also reports 85 new lab-confirmed along with two (2) new hospitalizations and eight (8) new hospital discharges. There are 157 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 14,034.
The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 15,794. Hays County has 1,559 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 2,614 active cases. Hays County has had 707 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 31 people are currently hospitalized.

Individual’s names will be on the wait list for whichever of the two groups they qualify, either 1A or 1B per Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) rules.
