Hays County COVID-19 Update February 26

Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one COVID-related fatality, a Kyle man in his 60s. The Department also reports 46 new lab-confirmed cases along with two (2) new hospitalizations and one (1) new hospital discharge. There are 63 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 15,577.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 16,270. Hays County has 480 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 1,123 active cases. Hays County has had 740 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 29 people are currently hospitalized.

Following a routine data audit, HCLHD removed two (2) cases from the total number of cases. Removals are typically due to being out-of-county or duplicate data.
