Hays County COVID-19 Update March 22

Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports 36 new lab-confirmed cases along with nine (9) new hospitalizations and one (1) new hospital discharge since Friday’s report. There are 34 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 16,255.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 16,913. Hays County has 423 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 645 active cases. Hays County has had 781 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 14 people are currently hospitalized.

HCLHD officials urge everyone to continue following COVID-19 health and safety protocols, including frequent vigorous hand washing, social distancing, wearing face masks and avoiding in-person gatherings.
