Hays County COVID-19 Update May 27-28

Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one (1) COVID-related fatality, a Kyle woman in her 50s. The department also reports 25 new lab-confirmed cases along with one (1) new hospitalization and five (5) new hospital discharges. There are 48 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 18,378.
The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 18,864. Hays County has 239 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 361 active cases. Hays County has had 879 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 11 people are currently hospitalized.
Note: During a routine weekly data audit, the HCLHD removed 17 cases due to out of county or duplicate record.

Upcoming ‘no appointment needed’ vaccine clinics:
Monday-Friday, Pfizer vaccines @ Live Oak Community Clinic, 401 Broadway, San Marcos, 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.
Every Thursday and Friday – Pfizer vaccine @ CommuniCare, 2810 Dacy Ln., Kyle, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Hays County will be providing Pfizer vaccines at the following locations June 4-6:
Friday 5-10 p.m. | Saturday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. | Sunday 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
