Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports three COVID-related fatalities: a Kyle man in his 40s, a San Marcos man in his 70s, and a Uhland man in his 40s. The department also reports 243 new lab-confirmed cases along with nine (9) new hospitalizations and four (4) new hospital discharges. There are 169 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 24,310. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 26,620. Hays County has 1,977 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 3,025 active cases. Hays County has had 1,213 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 60 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 52 are unvaccinated, which is about 87 percent.
