Hays County COVID-19 Update September 27, 2021

Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports six (6) COVID-related fatalities: a Buda woman in her 40s, a Dripping Springs man in his 40s, a Kyle man in his 80s, a San Marcos man in his 60s, a San Marcos man in his 80s, and a Wimberley woman in her 80s. The department also reports 190 new lab-confirmed cases along with 13 new hospitalizations and 13 new hospital discharges. This report covers September 25-27.

There are 267 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 26,526. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 28,365. Hays County has 1,475 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 2,608 active cases. Hays County has had 1,291 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 43 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 38 are unvaccinated, which is about 88 percent.
