Hays County Spring Egg Hunt Rescheduled for April 29

Join us at the third Annual Hays County Easter Egg Hunt! The event is open to all children and takes place on Saturday, April 29, beginning at 10 a.m. on the Hays County Historic Courthouse lawn. The Easter Bunny will visit with children between 11 a.m. and noon. This event is now being held in conjunction with Community Action’s Dia del Nino event. (It was rescheduled due to inclement weather on the original date.)

Egg hunts for different age groups will begin at noon:

  • Under 5 years
  • 5-7 years
  • 8-10 years
  • 11-13 years.

Hays County Commissioners donated a prize Easter basket for one child in each age group who finds a golden ticket inside an egg.

Teens between the ages of 14-16 will compete in an Egg Balancing Competition for a prize from the Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra. Each egg hunt age group will have a prize donated by one of the Hays County Commissioners.

Refreshments, crafts, and games will be hosted by the LBJ Museum, Dunbar Heritage Association, KnD Boutique, Mermaid Society, League of Women Voters, Council for the Indigenous and Tejano Community, Downtown Association, and H-E-B.   Also on hand for children will be “Storytime Princesses” from the Texas State Medical Explorer Omega Leo Program.

The Hays County Historic Courthouse is located at 111 E. San Antonio St. in San Marcos (the square). Our Easter Egg Hunt is free and everyone is welcome!
