Flu Vaccines

Getting a flu vaccine is more important this year than ever.

It is highly recommended that anyone over the age of six months get a flu shot to help prevent a flu epidemic. Peak flu season in Central Texas is January and February. This year, with COVID-19, it will be almost impossible to distinguish between the two without visiting a physician and having tests performed.

Hays County residents are already using good practices that help slow down the spread of the COVID-19, such as social distancing, covering coughs and sneezes, frequently washing our hands, and wearing a mask. All those same things will help stop the spread of influenza. But there is one weapon we have against the flu that we do not yet have against COVID-19, and that is a vaccine.

Be sure to see your primary care giver or one of many local clinics to get your Flu vaccine.
