Hays County Local Health Department today reports one (1) COVID-related fatality; a Dripping Springs woman in her 80s. Epidemiologist Eric Schneider also reported 20 new lab-confirmed cases, one (1) new hospitalization, one (1) hospital discharge and 46 additional individuals who are now considered recovered.
The County’s total of lab-confirmed cases is 5,103; of those, 2,673 are considered active. The number of individuals considered recovered is 2,392. The number of negative tests is 22,714. Schneider is awaiting results on 25 tests.
“We thank those Hays County residents who are helping to slow the spread of the virus,” Schneider said. “By washing our hands, wearing masks and staying distanced from others, we are protecting the most vulnerable in our community.”
Hays County has had 126 total hospitalizations and 18 people are currently hospitalized. Some patients are in hospitals outside Hays County but are included in our numbers if they reside here. Likewise, an individual from another county who is in a local hospital would be accounted for in their county of residence.

By opening up the full dashboard, users can click the top right corner on the main page to find an option to see the stats broken down by each individual city. After selecting “View Cities Dashboard”, use the drop-down menu to search by city.
