COVID-19 Visitation Schedule and Rules for Hays County Jail
Read the updated Hays County Jail visitation rules on the Q&A page.
AS THE HOLIDAY SEASON IS UPON US, THE ONLY APPROVED ITEMS THAT CAN BE SENT THROUGH THE MAIL, ARE MARKET SIZE PAPERBACK BOOKS.
All books, booklets, magazines and newspapers must come directly from the publisher or from a bona-fide bookseller; no hard cover bound books will be allowed. Any books, booklets, magazines and newspapers, not received from the publisher or a bona-fide bookseller will be returned to the sender. A “bona-fide bookseller” is a business that regularly engages in the sale or distribution of books only.
Mail and or unauthorized items that cannot be returned will be retained in the inmate’s personal property or destroyed with the shift lieutenant’s approval. Inmates will be given a written notice of the rejected mail. If inmates have property in excess of what is allowed, they must arrange to have it picked up when notified by property staff within seven (7) days of notification. The individual to whom property is being released must possess a valid form of identification in order for property to be released. After seven (7) days, all identified excess property will be destroyed or donated to charity.
FAMILY OR FRIENDS CAN SEND A SECURE PACK THROUGH ACCESSCATALOG.COM IF THEY WISH TO SEND A HOLIDAY CARE PACKAGE.
