Hays County Elections is currently seeking bilingual individuals to work at our polling locations. If you are a registered voter in Hays County, you may serve as a poll worker! If interested in working, please call our office for further details.  Complete the Poll Worker Application Form , and either:

    a) mail to our office;
    b) e-mail to our address;
    c) or fax to our number.

Note: for the November 2020 General Election, we received more than 1,000 applications for poll workers. If you do not hear back from us by the beginning of Early Voting, please know that we hired as many people as we possibly could. Our staff will likely not have time to contact each applicant. We encourage you to apply again in the future and thank you for wanting to get involved!

Become a Deputy Registrar

Would you like to become a volunteer deputy registrar?  You no longer need to wait to attend a class.

Hays County offers online training for volunteer deputy registrars (VDRs).  VDR certifications remain valid for two years, expiring on December 31 of even-numbered years.

Read through the material. When you feel adequately trained and prepared, come by our office to review the study guide, pass the open-book exam, and receive your certificate of appointment and supply packet.
