Hays County COVID-19 Update February 1, 2021

Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports four (4) COVID-related fatalities, a San Marcos man in his 50s, a San Marcos woman in her 90s, a Kyle woman in her 80s and a Kyle man in his 50s. The department also reports 317 new lab-confirmed cases since Friday’s report along with 22 new hospitalizations and 19 new hospital discharges. There are 56 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 12,274.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 15,009. Hays County has 2,545 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 3,869 active cases. Hays County has had 676 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 40 people are currently hospitalized.
