Freezing temps and rain in our region could cause problems. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Hays County area and a Winter Storm Warning for nearby counties. 
The key points of this advisory are:
*Temps will remain steady today, near/below freezing
*Freezing rain, sleet, rain expected with up to 1/4 inch of ice possible in portions of the Warning area
*Accumulations will primarily be on elevated roadways and surfaces but possible on other roads far north. Travel is highly discouraged in these areas today!
*Isolated power outages possible
Stay home if possible. If you must drive, use extra caution and allow plenty of time to arrive at your destination.
Remember to protect your pets, plants and pipes. And check on any elderly or disabled friends/neighbors who may need help.
