Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one COVID-related fatality, a San Marcos woman in her 40s. The department also reports 154 new lab-confirmed cases along with two (2) new hospitalizations and three (3) new hospital discharges. There are 131 additional persons considered recovered. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 25,838.
Please note: during a routine data audit, HCLHD removed one (1) fatality* and 19 hospitalizations*; cases are removed when they are out of county or duplicate. Hays County has 2,111 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 3,184 active cases. Hays County has had 1,187 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 56 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 47 are unvaccinated, which is about 84 percent. No report Monday as County offices are closed for Labor Day.
