UPDATE JUNE 7: Water service has been restored and the offices at Yarrington Rd. are open.
The following Hays County offices will be temporarily closed until further notice: Transportation Department and Development Services Department. Both are located at 2171 Yarrington Road in Kyle.
According to Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra, a nearby construction issue has caused the buildings at Yarrington to be without any running water. The judge has therefore authorized the immediate closing of the facility, citing potential issues with sanitation.
Development Services Director Marcus Pacheco said many of his employees can work remotely and will continue to provide service to the public while the building is closed.
The Maxwell Water Supply utility has not provided a timeframe for repairs or when the water will be back on at the Yarrington location. Check the Hays County official website and official Facebook page for updates on when the offices are reopening.
