UPDATE 12:30 p.m.
Fire is 30% contained and acreage remains estimated at 400. All crews engaged in heavy mop-up to cool the perimeters of the fire. National Guard helicopters have made beneficial water drops on hot spots in difficult-to-access areas of the fire.

UPDATE 11:54 a.m.
From our Office of Emergency Management: Nonperishable food donations (that will not melt) and cases of water and/or Gatorade can be delivered to South Hays Fire Station 13 at 3300 Hilliard Rd., San Marcos; please do not take donations to the fire scene were CERT is set-up as we are trying to minimize traffic in that area for safety and to allow emergency vehicles to move freely.

If you are closer to Wimberley, please drop water and Gatorade (only those are being accepted at the moment) at the Wimberley Fire Station at 111 Green Acres. Wimberley Fire will be accepting water and Gatorade between 1-5 p.m. today, August 6.

Your support is greatly appreciated!

UPDATE 11:15 a.m.
