Hays County COVID-19 Update February 9

Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports two (2) new COVID-related fatalities, a Buda woman in her 70s, and a Wimberley man in his 70s. The department also reports 114 new lab-confirmed along with 11 new hospitalizations and seven (7) new hospital discharges. There are 565 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 13,877.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 15,709. Hays County has 1,632 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 3,236 active cases. Hays County has had 705 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 37 people are currently hospitalized.

Individual’s names will be on the wait list for whichever of the two groups they qualify, either 1A or 1B per Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) rules.
