Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports two COVID-related fatalities, a female from Buda in her 40s and a Kyle male in his 80s. The department also reports 36 new lab-confirmed cases along with two (2) new hospitalizations and four (4) new hospital discharges. There are 60 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 15,947.
The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 16,651. Hays County has 473 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 818 active cases. Hays County has had 764 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 10 people are currently hospitalized.
Visit haysinformed.com to sign up on the Hays County vaccine pre-registration wait list. The pre-registration list does not guarantee an appointment. Individuals’ names will be on the wait list for whichever of the two groups they qualify per Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) rules.
For those without internet access or those who are not technologically savvy, a call-in number is available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12-4 p.m. Those individuals who need help can call 833-521-2766; a volunteer will assist them in getting signed up on the Hays County COVID-19 vaccine pre-registration list.
