NOTICE OF INTENT TO RAISE SALARIES & ALLOWANCES OF ELECTED OFFICIALS

In accordance with section 152.013 of the Texas Local Government Code, the Commissioners’ Court of Hays County is publishing the following increases in salaries and allowances for elected officials. These increases are proposed as part of the new fiscal year budget which begins October 1, 2023. A public hearing and expected vote on the budget are scheduled for September 19, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Commissioners’ Courtroom of the Hays County Courthouse, located at 111 E. San Antonio St., San Marcos, Texas.

The FY 2024 proposed salaries include a market average adjustment based on a recent salary study conducted by an outside consultant. Additionally, a step plan was implemented based on length of terms in office. The Hays County Judge and Commissioners have not received any salary or allowance increases since October 1, 2015. All other elected officials received raises in only two of the past eight fiscal year budgets.
